I discovered Gardens of the Sun on Instagram, as one does these days. The designs and quality of the work instantly draws you in to a world with meaning and purpose.
Gardens of the Sun values sustainability, tree planting, craftsmanship and quality materials. Meri Geraldine is the founder and creative force behind Gardens of the Sun, working with two metal-smiths out of Indonesia.
With a philosophy, you don’t have to be flawless to be beautiful, there is a positive message resonating within every design to embrace your imperfections.
A beautiful gesture within this brand is a tree is planted for every jewel purchased in Borneo to provide habitat for orang-utans and other endangered wildlife species – I love this concept of direct community support for the environment.
FIVE RINGS I CAN’T TAKE MY EYES OFF
The name of the shop, Gardens of the Sun, comes from an old journal about Borneo island written by an explorer from the 19th century. He describes the exotic jungles of the tropical islands of Borneo and Sulawesi. His description of the home of the Dayaks, rare birds and curious animals opened up a whole new world, inspiring many others.
